About Jeroen Timmer - EnvelopeBook

In his work designer Jeroen Timmer researches sustainability and designs new purposes for used materials. In 2009 he graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. During an exchange in Kyoto, Japan he got the idea to start using envelope papers as raw material for a range of luxurious notebooks and notepads. After his graduation he started to further develop the concept. Over the past years EnvelopeBook has developed into a recycling system for envelopes in the Netherlands. Companies as well as individuals contribute used envelopes as well as a surplus of papers, left over after a change of logo. Regularly products appear in the national media and are offered through a range of design shops in the Netherlands and Belgium.

During the exhibition Paper Art & Design in Dutch Design Hotel Artemis, guests can not only purchase the sustainably produced notebooks from EnvelopeBook but also learn more about the production process.

Dutch Design Hotel Artemis is committed to sustainability (is in the possession of the sustainability label Green Key Gold) and finds EnvelopeBook a beautiful initiative. Therefore, the hotel will collect for the duration of the exhibition not only its own window envelopes, but also visitors to the hotel can drop off their used window envelopes. EnvelopeBook ensures that these envelopes will be reused again beautifully.
